Nominations open through December 3
The Ole Miss Alumni Association has opened nominations for its first annual 40 Under 40 awards.
Year after year, the University of Mississippi graduates influential young leaders in a broad range of fields. They forge partnerships, solve problems, blaze trails, and serve their communities wherever they may be.
The Alumni Association’s 40 Under 40 awards program will spotlight selected alumni across a variety of vocations for having made a significant impact in business, research, leadership, public service and/or philanthropic endeavors.
“Our young alumni population is growing tremendously, and they are doing remarkable work in their fields,” says Sunny Brown, OMAA assistant director and 40 Under 40 coordinator. “We are excited to launch this program as way to recognize and celebrate some of our outstanding young alumni.
“In addition, the winner of the Alumni Association’s Outstanding Young Alumni Award, which is presented at Homecoming, will be selected from this group of 40 Under 40 recipients.”
To be eligible, nominees must be active members of the Alumni Association, have made a significant impact on their industry or field, have civic or professional achievements, aspire to uphold the core values of the UM Creed, have earned an undergraduate degree from the university, and demonstrate a commitment to maintaining a lifelong relationship with the university and the OMAA. Nominees also must be 39 years of age or younger on January 15, 2022, to be considered.
Nominators should fill out an online form with the nominee’s name and email address. The nominee will then be asked to complete the application process.
Nominations for the Class of 2022 may be submitted through December 3 at https://olemissalumni.com/nominate40. Recipients will be announced in the spring with a reception and ceremony on March 25 as part of Young Alumni Weekend, which includes a crawfish boil at Swayze Field when the baseball Rebels take on Tennessee.
