Oxford will miss Levi Paul Minyard

Levi Paul Minyard, 30, died Sunday, February 12, 2012 at his home in Oxford, Mississippi.

Born in Pueblo, Colorado, and having grown up in Oxford, Mr. Minyard graduated with honors from the Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Portland, Oregon. He  trained under master chefs in France and New Zealand. As a result of his accomplishments, Mr. Minyard was named Steel Chef of Mississippi, 2010. He was employed as executive chef at Madidi in Clarksdale and was most recently the executive chef at the University Club in Oxford. Mr. Minyard was a member of the Oxford Church of Christ.

Survivors include his parents, David and Robin Minyard of Oxford; one sister, Christi Piiparinen of Memphis, Tenn.; one brother, Alexander David Minyard of Oxford; his grandmother, Wanda Jean Conner of Oxford.
