Oxford, Mississippi Board of Aldermen Meeting Agenda – Tuesday, March 20, 2018

Meeting is at 5:00 pm at City Hall.

Notice that certain commission members will be included in the meeting via teleconference, subject to City of Oxford Code of Ordinances Section 2-82.

  2. Adopt the agenda for the meeting.
  3. Mayor’s Report
  4. Authorize the approval of the minutes of the regular meeting on March 6, 2018.
  5. Authorize the approval of accounts for all city departments.
  6. Consider the consent agenda:
    1. Request permission for two officers to attend Criminal Investigation training on April 16- 17, 2018, in Tunica, MS, at an estimated cost of $478.00 plus per diem. (Joey East)
    2. Request permission for two officers to attend Rifle/Shotgun Armorer’s training on March 19- 22, 2018, in Oxford, MS, at an estimated cost of $900.00. (Joey East)
    3. Request permission for three officers to attend Interdiction Training on March 28- 29, 2018, in Biloxi, MS, at an estimated cost of $276.00 plus per diem. (Joey East)
    4. Request permission for one employee to attend Basic Communications for Dispatchers on April 2- 6, 2018, in Tunica, MS, at an estimated cost of $609.50 plus per diem. (Joey East)
    5. Request permission for Anna Therese Beavers, Jalesia McKinney, McKenna Nixon, Atziri Ortiz, and Todd Strange to intern with the Oxford Police Department for Summer 2018. (Joey East)
    6. Request permission to approve Jacob T. Rodriguez and Chase M. Cernigliaro as taxi drivers for Unchained Pedicabs. (Joey East)
    7. Request permission for an accountant to attend a CSA Training Class on April 26, 2018, in Tupelo, MS, at an estimated cost of $349.00. (Rob Neely)
    8. Request permission to hire two full-time patrol officers in the Oxford Police Department. (Braxton Tullos)

  12. Adopt a retirement resolution for Bubba Robinson of the Oxford Park Commission.
  13. First reading and vote on a proposed ordinance repealing Section 1-9 of the Code of Ordinances. (Pope Mallette)
  14. Third reading, public hearing, and vote of a proposed Ordinance enlarging the corporate limits of the City of Oxford. (Pope Mallette)
  15. Update on Double Decker Bus rental guidelines, pricing, and rules. (Joe Scott)
  16. Consider a vehicle take home policy for the Oxford Police Department. (Joey East)
  17. Approve modification to subgrant agreement between City of Oxford and University of Mississippi for MEMA Safe Room Grant. (Pope Mallette/ Jimmy Allgood)

  19. First reading for Case #2282 – Consideration of Amendments to the City of Oxford Land Development Code (Articles 2, 3, 5, 7, and 9) to correct mistakes and make modifications. (Judy Daniel)
  20. First reading for Case #2283 – Consideration of Amendments tot he Municipal Code Chapter 66, Article VI. Mobile Food Vending. (Judy Daniel)
  21. First reading for Case #2284 – Consideration of an Amendment to the City of Oxford Land Development Code (Article 2 – Multi-Family Residential) to establish a special exception process to allow a higher level of residential capacity for multi-family development in certain circumstances.   22. First reading for Case #2285 – Consideration of Amendments to the City of Oxford Land Development Code (Article 3 – Wireless Communication Facilities use) to correct mistakes and provide standards for new technologies. (Judy Daniel)
