Oxford, Mississippi Board of Aldermen Meeting Agenda for Tuesday, December 3, 2019

Meeting is at 5:00 pm.

Notice that certain commission members will be included in the meeting via teleconference, subject to City of Oxford Code of Ordinances Section 2-82.

  1. Call to order.
  2. Adopt the agenda for the meeting.
  3. Mayor’s Report
  4. Authorize the approval of the minutes of the Regular Meeting on November 19, 2019 and the Recess Meeting on November 25, 2019. (Ashley Atkinson)
  5. Authorize the approval of accounts for all city departments.
  6. Consider the consent agenda:
    1. Request permission for the General Manager and Maintenance Manager to travel to Charlotte, MI on December 9-10, 2019 for a site visit for the new buses at an estimated cost of $1,018.80. (Donna Zampella)
    2. Request permission for two OUT employees to attend a Specification Workshop on December 5, 2019 in Jackson, MS at an estimated cost of $328.00. (Donna Zampella)
    3. Request permission for the General Manager to attend a grant workshop on December 16, 2019 in Jackson, MS at an estimated cost of $328.00. (Donna Zampella)
    4. Request permission for two Deputy City Clerks to attend the 2020 CMC Spring Session on February 26- 28, 2020, in Oxford, MS, at an estimated cost of $400.00. (Ashley Atkinson)
    5. Request permission to accept the resignation of an employee in the Human Resources Department and advertise for a replacement. (Braxton Tullos)
    6. Request permission to approve a step raise for an employee in the Buildings and Grounds Department. (Braxton Tullos)
    7. Request permission to approve step raises for five Apprentice Linemen in the Oxford Utilities Department. (Braxton Tullos)
    8. Consider water and/or sewer bill adjustments in accordance with Oxford Utilities Leak Adjustment Policy. (Rob Neely)
  7. Announce a vacancy on the Oxford School Board.
  8. Request permission to declare a bus surplus in the Oxford University Transit Department. (Donna Zampella)
  9. Request permission to declare equipment surplus in the Oxford University Transit Department. (Donna Zampella)
  10. Request permission to advertise for the 2020-2021 5311 Grant. (Donna Zampella)
  11. Update on the OUT Facility Renovation. (Donna Zampella)
  12. First reading of a proposed Ordinance amending Chapter 54, Historic Preservation, Sections 54-17 through 54-37, Administrative Approvals. (Kate Kenwright)
  13. Request permission to accept the bids and award the Municipal Depository for calendar years 2020 and 2021. (Ashley Atkinson)
  14. Request permission to allow Sgt. Alex Moffett to adopt retired OPD K-9 Mattis. (Jeff McCutchen)
  15. Request permission to accept a $2,500.00 donation from the Oxford Lafayette County Crime Stoppers for the Oxford Police Department. (Jeff McCutchen)
  16. Consider a request from Shaw Services, LLC for Sunday work on December 7th at the Downtown Parking Garage for the sealing of the 4th floor. (Bart Robinson)

  18. Consider an executive session.
