Oxford, Mississippi Board of Aldermen Agenda – Tuesday, January 2, 2018

Notice that certain commission members will be included in the meeting via teleconference, subject to City of Oxford Code of Ordinances Section 2-82.

  1. Call to order.
  2. Adopt the agenda for the meeting.
  3. Mayor’s Report
  4. Authorize the approval of the minutes of the regular meeting on December 19th, 2017.
  5. Authorize the approval of accounts for all city departments.
  6. Consider the consent agenda:
    1. Request permission for an engineer to attend Engineering and Operations planning meeting in Chattanooga, TN, on January 24, 2018, at an estimated cost of $160.00. (Rob Neely)
    2. Request permission for the Superintendent to attend TVPPA All Member Meeting in Franklin, TN, on February 7, 2018, at an estimated cost of $206.00. (Rob Neely)
    3. Request permission for the City Attorney to attend the TVPPA Legal Conference in Franklin, TN, on February 8- 9, 2018, at an estimated cost of $1,291.00. All related expenses will be reimbursed by Oxford Electric Department. (Rob Neely)
    4. Request permission for the General Manager and one employee to attend a Grant Application Workshop in Jackson, MS, on January 8- 9, 2018, at an estimated cost of $600.00. (Ron Biggs)
    5. Request permission to hire two reserve officers in the Oxford Police Department. (Braxton Tullos)
    6. Request permission to demote one police officer from Patrol Officer to Reserve Officer in the Oxford Police Department. (Braxton Tullos)
    7. Request permission to accept the resignation of a police officer in the Oxford Police Department. (Braxton Tullos)
    8. Request permission to accept the resignation of a part-time police officer in the Oxford Police Department. (Braxton Tullos)
    9. Request permission to accept the resignation of a Communications Officer in the Oxford Police Department and advertise for a replacement. (Braxton Tullos)
  7. Public hearing and adoption of a No Protest Resolution for the issuance of General Obligation bonds in an amount not to exceed $11,000,000.00. (Sue Fairbank)
  8. Request permission to accept a proposal for Municipal Depository Services for 2018 and 2019. (Ashley Atkinson)
  9. Consideration of new OLHS management agreement.
  10. Request permission to accept bid for equipment purchase and installation for 8 fleet vehicles. (Joey East)
  11. Authorize the Mayor to sign Letter of Understanding with BCBS for Healthy Workplace Initiative. (Braxton Tullos)
  12. Approval of Interlocal Agreement with Lafayette County for Comprehensive Traffic Plan. (Bart Robinson/ Pope Mallette)
  13. Authorize the Mayor to sign Traffic Signal Maintenance Contract with Civil Link. (Bart Robinson)
  14. Consider request for sole source purchase from Control Systems Inc. (Bart Robinson)
  15. Request permission to advertise a Request for Proposals for an Insurance Consultant. (Bart Robinson)
  16. Consider request from C Spire for after-hours work at Abner’s on South Lamar. (Bart Robinson)
  17. Consider an executive session.
  18. Adjourn.
