Oxford, Mississippi Board of Alderman Agenda – Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at 5 pm

Notice that certain commission members will be included in the meeting via teleconference, subject to City of Oxford Code of Ordinances Section 2-82.

  1. Call to order.
  2. Adopt the agenda for the meeting.
  3. Mayor’s Report.
  4. Authorize approval of minutes of the regular meeting on October 4, 2016, and the recess meeting on October 13, 2016.
  5. Authorize approval of accounts for all city departments.
  6. Consider consent agenda:
    1. Request permission for one officer to attend the Mississippi Association of Gang Investigators Conference in Oxford on November 7-10, 2016at an estimated cost of $175.00 (registration fee only). (Joey East)
    2. Request permission for five officers to attend STORM Conference and Training in Vicksburg, MS on November 1-3, 2016 at an estimated cost of $615.00. (Joey East)
    3. Request permission to accept the resignation of two full-time officers in the Oxford Police Department. (Braxton Tullos)
    4. Request permission to accept the resignation of one part-time communications officer in the Oxford Police Department. (Braxton Tullos)
    5. Request permission for the City Clerk to attend the MS Municipal Clerks and Collectors Association Meeting for election training in Jackson, MS on December 14-16, 2016 at an estimated cost of $715.00. (Ashley Atkinson)
    6. Request permission to promote a part-time, seasonal employee in the Environmental Services Department to full-time. (Braxton Tullos)
    7. Request permission for a building inspector to attend training on the 2012 Residential Electrical Code in Waveland, MS on November 9-10, 2016 at an estimated cost of $575.00. (Randy Barber)
    8. Request permission for the Superintendent to attend CSA Executive Briefing in Nashville, TN on November 30, 2016 at an estimated cost of $280.00. (Rob Neely)

  9. Adopt a proclamation declaring October as Stand Beside Her Month.
  10. Announce upcoming vacancies on the Downtown Parking Commission.
  11. Request approval of final budget amendments and reallocations for all city funds for FY1516. (Ashley Atkinson)
  12. Request permission to amend the FY1617 Oxford Police Department budget to account for BCBS grant proceeds. (Joey East)
  13. Request permission to declare equipment surplus in the Environmental Services Department and authorize its sale on govdeals.com. (Amberlyn Liles)
