June 4, 2013 – 6:00 pm at Oxford Conference Center

 

Meeting Location Change: Due to the general election on June 4,
the Board of Aldermen meeting
will be held at the Oxford Conference Center.

  1. Call to order.
  2. Adopt the agenda for the meeting.
  3. Mayor’s Report.
  4. Authorize approval of minutes of the regular meeting on May 21, 2013.
  5. Authorize approval of accounts for all city departments.
  6. Adopt proclamation of retirement for Training Officer Bill Tait.
  7. Approve and authorize execution by Mayor Pro Tempore of revised and restated Memorandum of Agreement with an effective date of April 16, 2013, contingent on and pending verification from MDOT of its responsibility to pay for road project cost overages, if any, regarding CDBG and DIP project.   8. Approve and authorize execution by Mayor Pro Tempore of documentation from the City related to MDOT Frontage Road DIP Grant application. (Pope Mallette)
  9. Accept appraisals, adopt resolution authorizing the closure of 4th street and authorize sale and conveyance. (Pope Mallette)
  10. Authorize Mayor to sign the Farmers Market agreement. (Pope Mallette)
  11. Request Attorney General opinion related to Fire Code Enforcement. (Pope Mallette)
  12. Request Attorney General opinion regarding BMX track. (Pope Mallette)
  13. First reading of an ordinance amending the Oxford Commons PUD. (Tim Akers)
  14. Approve agreement with Core Campus (the HUB at Oxford) for provision of transit services. (Tim Akers)
  15. Reappoint Camp Best, Jack Mckenzie, Shawn Telford and Julie Spears to the Historic Preservation Commission.
  16. Authorize Mayor to sign engineering agreement with Daniels Engineering for extension of Anderson Road to County Road 165. (Bart Robinson)
  17. First reading of ordinance amendment to amend Section 102-482 of the City of Oxford Code of Ordinances. (Bart Robinson)
  18. Authorize Mayor to sign easement, construction easement and accept property at completion of Old Taylor Roundabout project. (Bart Robinson)
  19. Request permission to advertise for annual unit prices associated with overhead and underground utility line construction. (Bart Robinson)
  20. Request permission for City employee to travel to MS Recycling Coalition Board Meeting on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 in Jackson MS at no cost to the City. (Eddie Anderson)
  21. Request permission to advertise for annual unit prices associated with overhead and underground utility line construction. (Rob Neely)
  22. Discuss the intersection of South 8th and University Avenue.
  23. Request permission for Tim Simon and Daron Bailey to complete a summer internship program with the Oxford Fire Department. (Cary Sallis)
  24. Request approval for Andrew McNulty and Bradley Parker to serve as interns for the Police Department. (Joey East)
  25. Request permission for the Court Clerk to attend the MS Judicial College Board of Governors meeting in Jackson MS on June 7, 2013. (Lisa Carwyle)
  26. Request permission to advertise for Building & Grounds laborer. (Al Hope)
  27. Accept resignation in the Building & Grounds Department. (Al Hope)
  28. Authorize employment of a part time seasonal laborer in the Building & Grounds Department. (Al Hope)
  29. Authorize advertisement for a pool of Sanitation laborers. (Al Hope)
  30. Approve the retirement of Asst. Chief Ronald Williams in the Fire Department. (Al Hope)
  31. Authorize advertisement for a pool of applicants for police dispatcher. (Al Hope)
  32. Authorize advertisement for a pool of applicants for police officer. (Al Hope)
  33. Authorize promotion in the Sanitation Department. (Al Hope)
  34. Consider executive session.
