City of Oxford, Mississippi Board of Aldermen Agenda – Tuesday, June 16, 2020

Meeting is at 5:00 pm in the City Hall Courtroom.

Notice that certain commission members will be included in the meeting via teleconference, subject to City of Oxford Code of Ordinances Section 2-82.

  2. Adopt the agenda for the meeting.
  3. Mayor’s Report
  4. Authorize the approval of the minutes of the Special Meeting on May 31, 2020 and the Regular Meeting on June 2, 2020. (Ashley Atkinson)

  6. Consider the consent agenda:
    1. Request approval of water and/or sewer adjustments in accordance with the Oxford Utilities Leak Adjustment Policy. (Rob Neely)
    2. Request permission to hire a Part-Time Grounds Worker at mTrade Park. (Braxton Tullos)
  7. Adopt a retirement resolution for Francis M. Brick in the Oxford Utilities-Water & Sewer Department. (Rob Neely)

  9. Request permission to grant RATP/Dev one or both 12 month optional contract extensions for Oxford-University Transit, from August 1, 2020 to either July 2021 or July 2022. (Donna Zampella)
  10. Discuss the current face covering requirements.
  11. Designate Jimmy Allgood as the FEMA applicant agent for the City of Oxford COVID-19 response. (Jimmy Allgood)
  12. Authorize the Mayor to sign the State and Local Agreement with MEMA for the COVID-19 response reimbursement. (Jimmy Allgood)
  13. Consider a request from Jason Plunk for the 2020 Destination Car Show on August 7, 2020 and authorize the use of City parking areas for same.
  14. Request permission to accept a $500.00 LOFT grant from the Create Foundation for the Oxford Fire Department. (Joey Gardner)
  15. First reading of a proposed ordinance amending Chapter 102, Article XVII of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Oxford, Mississippi regarding a new ticket fine structure. (Matt Davis)
  16. Request permission to accept low quotes for new parking signage to be installed in the downtown district. (Matt Davis)
  17. Consider the extension of expiration dates for building permits and site plan approvals. (Hollis Green)
  18. Consider a request from Stewart Rutledge to rescind the “storm water leniency” portion of the previously granted Affordable Housing Incentives for Belle Rivers Phase II. (Hollis Green)
