City of Oxford, Mississippi Board of Aldermen Agenda – Tuesday, December 7, 2021

Meeting is at 5:00 pm in the City Hall Courtroom.

Notice that certain commission members will be included in the meeting via teleconference, subject to City of Oxford Code of Ordinances Section 2-82.

  3. Mayor’s Report
  4. Authorize the approval of the minutes of the Regular Meeting on November 16, 2021 and the Recess Meeting on November 29, 2021. (Ashley Atkinson)

  6. Consider the consent agenda:
    1. Fixed Assets Management:
      1. Request permission to declare equipment surplus in the Oxford Fire Department and authorize its disposal. (Joey Gardner)
      2. Request permission to transfer equipment from mTrade Park to the Oxford Park Commission. (Brad Freeman)

      3. Rescind a donation approved at the November 16, 2021 Regular Meeting, item 6ciii, the $500.00 donation from Home Depot was meant for the Peace Officers Association, not the City. (Jeff McCutchen)
      4. Rescind a donation approved at the November 2, 2021 Regular Meeting, item 20, the $2,000.00 donation from Wal-Mart, was meant for the Peace Officers Association, not the City. (Jeff McCutchen)
    4. Travel Requests:
      1. Request permission for two Deputy City Clerks to attend the Spring Certified Municipal Clerk Program on March 9-11, 2022, in Oxford, MS, at an estimated cost of $400.00. (Ashley Atkinson)
      2. Request permission for an Alderman to attend the 2022 MML Mid-Winter Conference in Jackson, MS on January 11-13, 2022, at an estimated cost of $770.00. (Ashley Atkinson)
      3. Request permission to send three staff members to the Leadership Conference in Natchez, MS on January 19-21, 2022 at an estimated cost of $1,500.00. (Donna Zampella)
      4. Request permission for one officer to attend the MTOA SWAT School in Holly Springs, MS on February 20-March 11, 2022 at an estimated cost of $300. 00. (Jeff McCutchen)

      8. Request permission for an Agent to attend the Glock MOS Instructor Red Dot and RMR Instructor Class in Smyrna, GA on December 15-17, 2021 at an estimated cost of $1,087.00, to be split between OPD & Metro. (Alex Fauver)
  7. Authorize an appointment to the Tree Board.
  8. Request approval to submit the proposed FY 22/23 budget for Oxford University Transit to MDOT on January 3, 2022. (Donna Zampella)

  14. Third Reading and Vote on a proposed Ordinance amending Chapter 118, Sections 19, 22, 23, and 25, and adding Section 33, Designated Downtown Pickup Locations. (Matt Davis)
  15. First Reading of a proposed Ordinance to Establish Chapter 54- Historic Preservation, Article I and Amend Existing Boundaries. (Kate Kenwright)
  16. Request permission to accept the bid for the Municipal Depository for effective dates January 1, 2022 – December, 31, 2025. (Ashley Atkinson)
