This article is the fourth in a series of posts about musicians from Oxford, Mississippi who are continuing to play live and during the 2020 CoronaVirus Shutdown. All performances were recorded within the last 48 hours. Watch the other performances here: Check It Out #1, Check It Out #2, and Check I Out #3.

Will Griffith & The Great Dying

Will Griffith has been making beautiful Americana Music in Oxford, Mississippi for some time now. The Local Voice featured Will on our 2016 TLV TV web series, which you can view here and here.

You may not recognize him now; he usually has a big, beautiful beard.

However as he says, “Every ten years or so I’ll shave to the bone to surprise my mom. Hope everyone is happy and having a safe weekend ❤️”

Rocket 88

Rocket 88 is Jamie & Rosamond Posey, with Nate Robbins on bass. They have been an Oxford music staple for many years now. We love them!

I am so happy to see Rocket 88 live online during these trying times. Here they are playing the Yoknapatawpha Arts Council‘s “Stay@Home Festival” on Sunday, March 22.

This is a full concert, so press play and clean the house… again!

Tyler Keith

Let’s hear it for Rocknroll!!!

Tyler Keith lives in Oxford, Mississippi and is associated with The Neckbones, The Preacher’s Kids, The Apostles, Kid Twist, and more.

Tyler is a local, state, and national music legend in many, many circles.

Andrew Gordon

Andrew Gordon is back with his beautiful harp. Light a candle and enjoy. This one is call “Planxty Irwin”.

If you know someone local who is posting live music online, please let me know so I can check it out and feature them. Unless you let me know, I may miss it. My email is newt@thelocalvoice.net and I’m also on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram @NewtRayburn
