Oxford Middle School eighth grader Keaton Chamblee is showing her fellow classmates what it means to lead with strength and grace — choosing to face her journey with alopecia through courage and hope.
Rather than letting fear or uncertainty define her, Keaton embraced who she is with confidence. Her positive spirit and resilient mindset have been an inspiration to all those around her at Oxford Middle School.
Though her journey has had its challenges, Keaton has used this as an opportunity to discover her own strength. When she lost all of her hair, she had to adjust to a new reality, and while she does wear wigs many days, there are also days that she chooses not to. And in those moments, she stands confidently in who she is — both inside and out.
Recently, she was celebrated at Oxford Middle School’s Parade of Beauties, where she was named most beautiful and most inspirational. The most inspirational award held special meaning for Keaton, as it was voted on by her peers, reflecting their support and admiration for her.
Throughout her journey, her family, friends, and teachers have been there to support her and encourage her to be confident in who she is. Oxford Middle School is proud to highlight students like Keaton, whose courage and character make an impact on those around them.
