James Cameron Willard (26 years old, male)
On April 10, 2026, Deputies with the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office received a phone call regarding a wanted suspect, James Cameron Willard (26 years old, male), being seen within Lafayette County. Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department followed up with the information.
Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department and Oxford Police Department attempted to locate James Cameron Willard, who had was determined to have an outstanding Felony Fleeing and Eluding warrant with Panola County, an active misdemeanor warrant for Domestic Violence- Simple Assault with Lafayette, and was a suspect in a Felony Fleeing incident with Oxford Police Department.
Oxford Police Officers located Willard, and Willard began to flee in a vehicle from Oxford Police Officers.
Lafayette County Sheriff’s Deputies assisted in the pursuit where Willard struck a Lafayette County Sheriff Department patrol vehicle. James Willard and Hayden Boyd then fled on foot where they were later located.
James Willard was subsequently charged with Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer. Willard appeared before a Justice Court Judge on Sunday, April 12, 2026 and was issued a $1,000,000.00 bond.
Willard is currently being held at the Lafayette County Detention Center on a hold for Panola County for an active felony warrant and the Mississippi Department of Corrections for a probation violation.
