Joe Lester Jr. (44 years old), a Lafayette County, Mississippi resident.
The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Joe Lester Jr. (44 years old), a Lafayette County resident, in connection with an investigation following a disturbance.
On April 20, 2026, the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office received a call for service regarding a disturbance in the area of County Road 225. Deputies arrived on scene and spoke with the victim who advised being pistol whipped in the head during an altercation. The firearm was discharged during the assault, but no one was injured as a result of the weapon being discharged.
The victim identified the suspect, Joe Lester, who was apprehended by Deputies leaving the scene.
Investigators were called to the scene and began the investigation. As a result of the investigation, Lester was charged under Mississippi Code §97-3-7(2)(a)(ii) Assault, Aggravated- Use of a Deadly Weapon or Other Means Likely to Produce Death or Serious Bodily Injury.
Lester was subsequently taken into custody and transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center, where he was booked on the charge.
On April 21, 2026, Lester appeared before a Lafayette County Justice Court Judge and was issued a $5,000 bond.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
