Mississippi COVID-19 Cases Rise to 81,294 and 2,413 Deaths

Today the Mississippi Department of Health (MSDH) is reporting 599 new cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 14 new deaths, which continues a trend of declining numbers of daily cases. Mississippi’s total of COVID-19 cases since March 11 now stands at 81,294, with 2,413 deaths. 

Currently there are 668 Mississippians hospitalized with confirmed COVID-19 infection. There are currently 200 people hospitalized in intensive care for confirmed COVID-19.

10 of the new cases reported today were among residents in long-term care facilities with 5 deaths in long-term care, and there are now 159 active outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities (where an outbreak is one or more cases among residents or staff).
