John Cofield’s Photo of the Week: “The Fog Machine”

All the kids in the Avent Park area and all around town went tearing into the street on our bikes when we heard the Fog Machine coming down the street. Some poison that killed mosquitoes on contact pumped straight from a 55-gallon drum and we thought it was an adventure. Parents just waving at us from the porch, and we loved the way it smelled. Small wonder we survived those fine old Oxford days.
