Burglary on Pegues Road in Oxford, Mississippi Foiled by Police
On September 30, 2022, the Oxford Police Department responded to the area of Pegues Road for a possible burglary in progress. Officers were told that the suspect had just jumped out a window and ran.
Officers quickly contained the area and found Bernard Mathis (50 of Oxford, Mississippi).
He was taken into custody without further incident. Mathis was charged with burglary and given a bond of $10,000 by a Justice Court Judge.
