Suspicious Vehicle in Harmontown Leads to Arrest of Two Panola County Men for Catalytic Converter Thefts at Churches in Lafayette County

In the early morning hours of Tuesday, September 27, 2022, Lafayette County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle after the vehicle was seen at a Church in the Harmontown community.

Deputies made contact with three individuals and after further investigation it was determined that the two male occupants of the vehicle where in possession of burglary tools. Deputies made arrest on the two suspects and transported them to the Lafayette County Detention Center.

Investigators were notified of the incident and began interviewing the suspects. After conducting a thorough investigation, Investigators were able to determine that the two individuals have been involved in the recent catalytic converter thefts from several Churches in the County.

Investigators were also able to notify several surrounding agencies regarding converter thefts in their areas.

Investigators charged Dallas Holcomb, 26 years old of Batesville, Mississippi, and Dustin Sena, 20 years old of Sardis, Mississippi, with three counts of Felony Malicious Mischief and one count of Possession of Burglary Tools.

Holcomb and Sena are currently being held at the Lafayette County Detention Center.  The bond for Holcomb was set at $45,000.00 and bond for Sena was set at $35,000.00 and both were set by a Justice Court Judge.

Holcomb is also being held on a Mississippi Department of Corrections Hold. The investigation is still ongoing, and more charges could be filed at a later date.

The law enforcement duties are to keep the peace in Lafayette County while administrative duties consist primarily of serving as the county jailor. Due to the growth of Lafayette County, the Sheriff Department now employs 26 deputies working four 12 hour shifts.
