8th Annual Taste of Oxford February 11th at The Library – Benefits St. Jude Children’s Hospital

Live & Silent Auction, Local Food, Music, and Fun for a Good Cause

Mark your calendars for Wednesday, February 11th, when The Library Sports Bar & Grill will host the 8th Annual St. Jude Taste of Oxford. This popular charity event, presented by Regions Bank, gives attendees the opportunity to support St. Jude Children’s Hospital, whose mission is “to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment.”

TasteOxfordRestaurantsWEBThe evening will feature a mouthwatering selection of dishes donated by 17 local restaurants, including many classic Oxford favorites as well as some newer additions. There will also be a cash bar.

In addition to all the tasty treats, guests will have the opportunity to bid on some incredible items during the live and silent auctions. Ole Miss Fans will have plenty to get excited about this year, with several game day packages up for bids—how about a travel package for the Ole Miss–Alabama game this fall with tickets, travel, hotel, and even a signed piece of the goal post from the 2014 win against Bama? Maybe a Chef Dinner for you and your closest 40 friends at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium the night before the Texas A&M game, featuring renowned Memphis chefs Andy Ticer and Michael Hudman? I wonder who will win the bid for the LAST Ole Miss Powder Blue Helmet signed by Coach Hugh Freeze? Those are just a few of the many incredible items that will be available for auction at the Taste of Oxford.

TLV-222-LibraryAd-RGB-shorterThe party vibe for the night will be provided by Patrick Smith Band, whose “music is full of place, bringing with it all that the Mississippi River melting pot has to offer. He deftly fuses various influences that rolled in on that mighty river to his hometown of Vicksburg, Mississippi, weaving into his songs Delta Blues, barrelhouse rocking piano riffs, wailing jazz, underbelly soul, heart-wrenching gospel, and the funkiness of a New Orleans brass band.” Better get ready to boogie!

LogolargeTickets are still available to the event online at www.stjude.org/tasteofoxford.com or by contacting Lisa Heros Ellis at 901-373-5051 or by email at lisa.ellis@stjude.org. Individual tickets are $75, and cocktail attire is recommended. VIP admission for sponsors is at 6 pm, and general admission is 7 pm. Last year, over $220,000 was raised to support St. Jude. Hopefully, this year can exceed that number, so be a part of this event and help St. Jude in its mission of finding cures and saving children.  The Local Voice Ligature
