Epitaph of Defiance, a one-night theatrical production written and directed by Naomi Levin, will be presented Saturday, Oct. 10, at The Powerhouse in Oxford.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with tickets priced at $15.
The production takes a different approach to the traditional memorial service, using live theater, comedy and personal storytelling to explore the idea of celebrating a person’s life and legacy.
The evening will feature a cast of local actors performing Levin’s original work. A stand-up comedian will perform before the play, and a reception with charcuterie will be held before the show and continue through intermission. A cash bar will be available before the performance and during intermission.
Attendees will also receive a swag bag upon arrival.
Proceeds from ticket sales will support local artist-led projects, while proceeds from the cash bar will benefit local artists.
Epitaph of Defiance is scheduled as a one-night-only performance.
Tickets are $15 and can be purchased for the October 10 performance at The Powerhouse or online.
