$1,000 grant awarded for staff training and education
Delta Blues Museum is the recipient of a $1,000 mini grant from the Mississippi Arts Commission (MAC), awarded to support professional training and continued education for Museum staff.
Museum Director Shelley Ritter says the educational opportunities funded by the grant will help the Museum better serve its visitors, by allowing Museum staff to attend the joint meeting of the Museum Store Association as well as the American Alliance of Museums conference. She adds, “Promoting education is a key component in the strategic plan of the Delta Blues Museum, and this grant supports opportunities for Museum staff to discover fresh ideas and proven strategies for merchandising, marketing, operations and sales. Our participation presents a great opportunity for the Museum to help expand our tourism reach by engaging with attendees and exhibitors worldwide.”
