Summer student interns bring new perspectives and technical expertise to growing firm
Beard + Riser Architects, a Mississippi firm specializing in custom high-end residential and commercial design, announces the addition of four summer interns for 2026. The firm welcomes Macy McLean, Lauren Dulin, Sara Magee, and Jaylin Tate.
Lauren is a Bachelor of Architecture student at Tulane University School of Architecture, where she is pursuing a minor in Business Administration. A native of Austin, Texas, Lauren has built an impressive foundation of professional experience through mentorships with Gensler, Lake|Flato Architects, and DDG.
Macy is a fourth-year Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies student at Louisiana Tech University, where she will complete a Master of Architecture degree. A native of Texarkana, Texas, she has prior experience through an internship at WER Architects in Little Rock and at Thompson Home Design. She’s a member of Kappa Delta Sorority and is a pole vaulter for the Louisiana Tech Lady Bulldogs Track team.
Sara is a junior from Oxford pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design with a minor in Studio Art at Mississippi Christian. Sara has been recognized as a winner of the Artopex Student Design Competition and has earned placement on both MC’s Dean’s List and President’s List. She is an active member of ASID and currently serves as ASID Event Chair Officer.
Jaylin is a rising senior from Atlanta pursuing an architecture degree from Yale University, where he is also an offensive lineman for the Bulldog football team, garnering All-Ivy Honorable Mention for the 2025 season. As a member of Woodward Academy in Georgia, he led his team to three regional championships and was on the wrestling team.
Said Principal Architect Dale Riser, ‘Welcoming students from diverse programs like these across different geographical areas, is energizing for the firm and gives us the benefit of their training. We also hope that this experience is helpful in their gaining real-world knowledge of our practice and builds a bridge to future team members. Mentorship has always been part of how John and I practice architecture, and we look forward to a great summer with this group.’
