Grammy Museum® Mississippi will support the Museum’s education programming and events
Grammy Museum® Mississippi has been awarded a $23,100 grant from the Mississippi Arts Commission (MAC). This grant is a portion of the more than $1.7 million in grants awarded by MAC during Fiscal Year 2027 and will support the Museum’s education programming and events that bring the power of music to students, educators and communities throughout Mississippi and the region.
“We are grateful to the Mississippi Arts Commission for its continued investment in arts education and in the work we do every day at Grammy Museum Mississippi,” said Emily Havens, Executive Director of Grammy Museum Mississippi. “This generous grant allows us to expand meaningful educational experiences that connect students with music’s rich history, creative process and career opportunities while inspiring the next generation of music makers across our state.”
“The arts consistently demonstrate a positive impact on communities and local economies and are an essential aspect of Mississippi’s rich cultural landscape,” said David Lewis, executive director of the Mississippi Arts Commission. “MAC grants support artists, arts programs and arts organizations, who in turn reinvest in their communities and enhance quality of life across Mississippi.”
Funding for MAC’s grants comes from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Mississippi State Legislature.
Grammy Museum Mississippi offers some of the most dynamic and engaging education programs available from music museums today, implementing innovative educational strategies while working closely with educators across Mississippi and beyond. Through exhibits, education programs and events featuring artists and industry professionals, the Museum brings the power of music directly to its community, state and region.
