Oxford Lafayette Incorporated (OLinc) invites business leaders, educators, elected officials, entrepreneurs, workforce professionals, and community members to attend a special Fireside Chat featuring two of Mississippi’s leading voices in economic and workforce development.
The event will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, from 8 am to 10 am at Oxford High School, 101 Charger Loop, Oxford, Mississippi. The event is open to the public and members of the media through advance ticket registration.
Featured speakers include:
- Bill Cork, Executive Director, Mississippi Development Authority (MDA)
- Dr. Courtney Taylor, Executive Director, Accelerate Mississippi
The discussion will explore Mississippi’s economic development priorities, statewide workforce initiatives, and the partnerships necessary to prepare communities for future growth. Particular emphasis will be placed on how state resources and workforce strategies align with the recently adopted Oxford-Lafayette Strategic Plan for Economic Development.
“Our strategic plan challenges us to think beyond today’s opportunities and prepare for the economy of tomorrow,” said Ryan Miller, President and CEO of Oxford Lafayette Incorporated. “By bringing together leaders from Mississippi Development Authority and Accelerate Mississippi, we’re creating an opportunity for our community to better understand how local priorities connect with statewide strategy and how we can work together to create long-term economic opportunity.”
The Oxford-Lafayette Strategic Plan identifies six strategic goals designed to strengthen the community’s competitive position while focusing on targeted industry recruitment, entrepreneurial development, workforce alignment, regional collaboration, and quality-of-place investments. The fireside chat will provide attendees with insight into how these local initiatives complement statewide efforts to grow Mississippi’s economy and workforce.
Tickets for the event are available to the public. Seating is limited and advance registration is encouraged.
