Justin 3LAU (pronounced Blau, not three-Lau) is a house music producer and DJ by night; college junior by day. 3LAU’s “Your Mind Tour” will be making a stop at House of Blues New Orleans for a party after the Tulane vs. Ole Miss game Saturday, September 22.
Currently 21 years old, 3LAU balances a full course load at Washington University in St. Louis with a nationwide tour schedule and hours devoted to producing the bootlegs and remixes that have landed him top 10 Beatport & Hype Machine charting. Combining top-40 acapellas with instrumental bangers, 3LAU kick-started his career producing a signature sound that transcends the traditional definition of a bootleg, seamlessly weaving tracks that breed dance floor filth. Kimmy at Earmilk.com says 3LAU’s music is “destined to please a multitude of listeners – whether it be for a pregame, club set-list, or car ride with the windows down. 3LAU has been consistent in releasing tracks that successfully blend both top 40 hits and club bangers, appeasing both the electronic guru and radio fan.”
With a background in piano, guitar, and drums, 3LAU’s beginnings were in indie, but a trip to Sweden in the summer of 2011 opened his eyes to the world of house music. After producing for only a year, 3LAU’s achievements include the #1 remix in Tiesto’s “Work Hard, Play Hard” remix competition, a top 10 Beatport release on the progressive charts, and slots at Electric Zoo, Global Dance Fest, Spring Awakening and Camp Bisco. FratMusic.com named 3LAU as its official House DJ and he has received critical acclaim from top blogs ThisSongisSick.com, GoodMusicAllDay.com, as well as EDM influencers R3hab, Porter Robinson, and James Egbert. In a recent video 3LAU explains, “The rollercoaster has been me playing all these shows in front of thousands of people who have come to listen to my music and I still feel like I’m a college kid from Las Vegas who is a finance major who has always dreamed about going to work for Goldman Sachs and now my dream is to take this DJ career to the next level.”
This show is a don’t-miss for fans of electronica and for those of us who just like to dance post game!
