Young Rebels look to rebound at No.1 Vandy tonight on ESPNU

Mike Bianco and his 2015 Ole Miss Rebels have shown signs of excellence on the diamond this year. But after starting off 3-3 in the SEC and taking a series from No.1 Florida, they have struggled, going 7-10.

The Rebels, (16-17, 5-7) will face No. 1 Vanderbilt (27-7, 10-2) in Nashville for a three game series beginning tonight at 6:30 FST. The game will be televised by ESPNU. This will be the third No.1 ranked team Ole Miss has faced this season.

Despite having the nation’s second toughest schedule and a record of 16-17, their RPI still No. 36; mostly due to their 5-6 record against Top 15 teams.

Junior Christian Trent will start for the Rebels on the mound tonight. Trent is 5-2 on the year with a 3.83 ERA. He  has struck out 35 batters and walked 10 in 49.1 innings of work this season.
