Yokna Bottoms Farm Presents The Skid Rogues and Guests Saturday, January 12

A Yokna Bottoms Farm House Concert

Saturday, January 12, 2019, 7:00 pm
26 County Road 471, Oxford, MS

From the beginning, one of the goals in Yokna Bottoms Farm‘s mission statement has been to develop and support new organic farmers. Dan is leaving Yokna Bottoms Farm. He will be missed every day. He and his partner Stephanie are moving to Georgia to start their own organic farm. Dan arrived in the spring of 2016 with little farming experience but an amazing work ethic and a commitment to stay through the season. It was soon clear that Dan is a natural farmer because he genuinely cares about living plants and animals. It also became clear, regardless of his proclivity to strange hair, he is a trustworthy and dependable man.

For three years Dan has sustained Yokna Bottoms working 50–60 hour weeks to plant, care for, harvest, wash and process, and bring to market and restaurants the highest quality naturally grown food Yokna Bottoms Farm’s food shareholders and customers enjoy.

Dan has set up a Go Fund Me page to support his and Stephanie’s new farm. In appreciation, Yokna Bottoms Farm is hosting a House Concert next Saturday with THE SKID ROGUES, a jazz/swing/Americana band that features Greg Johnson (bass), Steve Brewer (guitar and vocals), Jeff Long (flute, saxophone, and vocals), and Shaundi Wall (percussion and vocals).

In addition, several surprise guests will be joining-in for music extending well into the evening. The event is free and open to the public, but the musicians always appreciate tips. Whether you can make the event or not, please consider supporting Dan and Stephanie through their Go Fund Me page.
