Water Valley, Mississippi Man Loses Life in One Car Accident Outside Oxford
On March 22, 2020 the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to a one car wreck on County Road 387 near County Road 386.
When Deputies arrived, they found a white sedan off the road way. The wreck involved one vehicle. The driver of the vehicle lost their life due to the wreck.
On March 30, the victim was identified as Kenneth Clinton Hobbson, Jr. ( born June 28, 1989) from the Water Valley area. Kenneth sustained injuries from the accident and lost his life from the injuries.
Deputies determined it was a single car accident and road conditions played a factor in the accident.
Lafayette County Sheriff The Office of Sheriff is a four year term filled through an at-large election process. Duties of the Sheriff involve two primary areas; law enforcement of the county and administrative. The law enforcement duties are to keep the peace in Lafayette County while administrative duties consist primarily of serving as the county jailor. Due to the growth of Lafayette County, the Sheriff Department now employs 26 deputies working four 12 hour shifts.
