University of Mississippi Department of Music Creates Two Series to Offer Connection During Distancing

New “Midday Music” series posts each weekday at noon

Each weekday at noon, UM Music will post recordings of music by faculty. Catch the daily post on social media channels (@olemissmusic), and each day the new piece will be added to a Midday Music Playlist on YouTube, available by clicking here: UM Music Department’s Midday Music Playlist

There’s nothing like a live music performance, but during this time when we’re unable to gather together, UM Music is trying something else. “Through the Midday Music series, we hope to create a shared musical experience—and show you a little slice of what music our faculty is exploring and performing on their own time.”

Interim Chair, Professor Nancy Maria Balach, creates a “Liaison” with students and the UM Music Community

UM Music’s Interim Chair Nancy Maria Balach is posting each day to connect with our students and the entire Ole Miss Music family. From Bernstein and the Beatles, to Haydn and Korsakov, music and ideas to consider, together.

The posts are available each evening on social media channels (@olemissmusic), and are added daily to a YouTube Playlist, available here: UM Music Department’s Liaison Playlis
