University Greys at Gettysburg, painted by Ray Meifert
The last Monday in April is “Confederate Memorial Day” in Mississippi. It’s an Official State Holiday. Here is a interesting video of a painting of the University Greys last stand at Gettysburg, painted by Ray Meifert. The University Greys were Ole Miss students who enlisted in the Confederate Army during the Civil War. Their ranks were decimated at Gettysburg and very few survived the war.
