Shooting Results in Death of Oxford Resident

The Oxford Police Department was at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi On January 3, 2018, on an unrelated call when Laquisha Marshall 19 years old of Oxford, Mississippi, came in by personal vehicle with a gunshot wound. It was revealed that the shooting occurred within the city limits of Oxford.

An investigation ensued and determined that Jadarius Harmon 22 years old from Taylor, Mississippi, had shot Marshall in the back.

Marshall was flown from BMH-NM to The Med in Memphis, Tennessee via Hosptial Wings. She died shortly later from her injuries.

Harmon will be formally charged later today. An update to his charges and bond will be released afterwards.

“This is a terrible tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Laquisha Marshall,” said Chief Joey East. “This incident is still under investigation and information will limited.” The Local Voice Ligature
