Photo of the Week: Workers Moving the Confederate Monument at Ole Miss from The Circle to the Confederate Cemetery

Workers at the University of Mississippi moved the Confederate Memorial from The Circle on the Ole Miss campus to the Confederate Cemetery behind Tad Smith Coliseum on Tuesday, July 14, 2020.

The monument was erected in 1906 as a memorial to Lafayette County soldiers who were killed and battle during the Civil War.

Photographs were submitted to The Local Voice but photographer’s name is being withheld by request.
