Oxford Police Department Announces The Square “Safe Site”

OXFORD, MISS (OPD)– Beginning Wednesday, September 13, 2017 Oxford Police Department will have a Safe Site tent set up in front Visit Oxford for downtown patrons. Uniformed officers will be available for patrons that feel unsafe, need aid finding transit home, would like an escort to their vehicle, or any police assistance. The Safe Site tent will be accessible Wednesday through Saturday at 8:00pm until 45 minutes after the bars close. Safe Site is not a place to get a ride but will assist patrons in finding one.

Visit Oxford is located at 1013 Jackson Ave. East across from Funkys Pizza. If for any reason there is not an officer located at the tent feel free to call the department at 232-2400. In the event of an emergency where police assistance is needed dial 911.  The Local Voice Ligature
