Oxford, Mississippi Man Arrested for Peeping Tom on Wednesday is Arrested for Murder on Friday

On September 4, 2020, 12:13 pm, Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department received and responded to a call at 5 CR 1080, College Hill area, to a “shots fired” call. 

While in route, Lafayette Communications “911” was speaking to a witness who had partially seen the incident and provided vital information to “911”.  Our dispatchers were able to give us a good clothing description and the direction of travel following the incident which led deputies to a person of interest.

Thirty-five-year-old Sherard Ward of Oxford, Mississippi was arrested and charged with the murder of his thirty-three year-old wife, Marisha Golden Ward, of Oxford. 

Sherard Ward was previously out on bond after being arrested Wednesday for Peeping Tom.

Sherard is being held at the Lafayette Detention Center, bond has not been set at this time.
