Oxford, Mississippi Man Arrested for 4th DUI

On December 15, 2018, an officer with the Oxford Police Department clocked a vehicle with his radar speeding going south on Hwy 7. The officer turned around and attempted to catch up with the vehicle but noticed that it was now in a ditch.

The driver was identified as Martin Simmons (28 of Oxford, Mississippi). A DUI investigation was conducted and a blood warrant was issued.

Martin had at least three prior DUI convictions and has another DUI 4th pending from an arrest with OPD on 8/25/18. Martin was arrested and transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center for DUI 4th, no insurance, driving while a license is suspended under the implied consent law, speeding, and failure to comply with an officer.

Martin was given a bond of $10,000 by a Justice Court Judge.
