Oxford Man Arrested for Domestic Violence
On Thursday April 29, 2021, investigators with the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department arrested 26-year-old Jordan Burnett of Oxford, for Domestic Violence-Aggravated Assault.
Burnett was involved in a fight where he was accused of strangulation.
Jordan Burnett was arrested and charged with Domestic Aggravated Assault.
He was given a bond of $50,000, but is on a MDOC Hold.

Duties of the Sheriff involve two primary areas; law enforcement of the county and administrative. The law enforcement duties are to keep the peace in Lafayette County while administrative duties consist primarily of serving as the county jailor. Due to the growth of Lafayette County, the Sheriff Department now employs 26 deputies working four 12 hour shifts.
