On Wednesday, June 6, 2018, an officer with the Oxford Police Department attempted to make a traffic stop on South 18th Street on a vehicle with no taillights. The vehicle continued until it stopped at a residence on Garfield Ave. The officer made contact with the driver, Christopher McDaniel (29 of Oxford, Mississippi), and began a DUI investigation.
During the investigation it was discovered that McDaniel had at least 3 prior DUI convictions and that there was a child in the car with him. McDaniel was subsequently arrested and charged with DUI 4th, child endangerment by DUI, driving with a suspended driver’s license, no insurance, no taillights, no tag, and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.
