Oxford BSA Troop 144 to Retire American Flag at North East Power Mississippi Electric Power Association July 30

Local BSA Troop 144 wants to invite the community to a flag retirement event on Sunday, July 30, 2023, at 7:30 pm. The troop will be serving as a color guard for a flag retirement at the offices of North East Power Mississippi Electric Power Association (intersection of Highway 30 and Highway 6 in Oxford, Mississippi). The ceremony will be brief.

NE Power has been an important part of our local community since its establishment nearly a century ago. They proudly fly a large national flag year round at their building. The flag has become worn, and it is time for it to be replaced. As part of the brief ceremony, scouts of Troop 144 will lower the old flag, fold it, then raise a new one.
