One Person Dead After Officer-Involved Shooting in Oxford, Mississippi
One person is dead after being shot by an officer Wednesday night, December 9, 2020, in Oxford.
The Oxford Police Department was called to an address on Private Road 3057 around 7 pm for a domestic disturbance. Officers arrived and the situation turned into an armed barricaded incident.
According to Oxford Police, officers began negotiating immediately. Those negotiations continued until the subject pointed a firearm at officers. At that time the incident resulted in an officer-involved shooting.
The subject was pronounced deceased on the scene. No officers were injured.
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is investigating.
