Obituary: Richard Harry “R.B.” Bowles, (November 13, 1961  –  October 7, 2022)

Mr. Richard Harry “R.B.” Bowles, 60, died Friday, October 7, 2022, at his home in Oxford, Mississippi. The funeral was held Sunday, October 9, 2022, at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. David Ard officiating. Visitation was held prior to the service beginning at 1:00 pm. Burial followed in Yellow Leaf Cemetery.

Mr. Bowles was born on November 13, 1961, to the late Billy and Geraldine Bowles. A native of Oxford, he was a member of Yellow Leaf Baptist Church and a fan of Ole Miss Football. Mr. Bowles worked as a contractor, building houses and was the former Sales Manager at Belk Ford of Oxford. He had a green thumb, growing a huge vegetable garden each year. It brought Mr. Bowles great joy to share his harvest with friends and family, and was known to give away more than he kept. Throughout his life, he had many dogs, and he leaves behind his two current canine companions, Beau and Boone.

Mr. Bowles is survived by a son, Colter Bowles and his wife, Shelby Hamilton of Hernando, MS; sisters, Donna Smith of Oxford, MS and Debbie Henderson of Oxford, MS; a brother, Jim Bowles and his wife, Amy of Oxford, MS; one granddaughter, Adaline Hamilton-Bowles; and a close friend, Wyn Tindall of Oxford, MS.
