Obituary: John Michael “Mike” McCauley, December 20, 1962 – November 16, 2021

Mr. John Michael “Mike” McCauley, 58, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at Trinity Mission Health and Hospice of Holly Springs, MississippiOxford-University United Methodist Church held a memorial service Thursday, November 18, 2021, at 2:00 pm with Rev. Eddie Rester and Rev. Chris McAlilly officiating. Visitation was held at the church prior to the service beginning at 1:00 pm. There was a graveside service following the service at 3:00 pm at Oxford Memorial Cemetery.

Mike was born in Kosciusko, Mississippi and raised in Oxford where he graduated from Oxford High School and later the University of Mississippi.  While attending Ole Miss, he was a member of the Kappa Alpha Fraternity

Mike worked as an insurance agent at Nationwide and was a well known and respected member of the LOU community.  A devout fan the Rebels, he was a member of the Ole Miss Quarterback Club.  He had a love of jazz music, telling jokes, and being surrounded by those he loved. 

Mike was a long-standing member of Oxford-University United Methodist Church, and held a strong faith in the Lord.  His commitment to serving others was seen through his marked acts of generosity which impacted many people throughout the community, leaving behind a legacy of the true spirit of kindness.

Mr. McCauley is survived by his girlfriend, Missy Wildmon of Oxford, MS; one sister; and several cousins.

Mr. McCauley was preceded in death by his parents, John McCauley and Shirley Godbold McCauley.
