Mississippi Department of Health Reports 1,305 New COVID-19 Cases and Five Deaths

Today the Mississippi Department of Health (MSDH) is reporting 1,305 new cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and five deaths. Mississippi’s total of COVID-19 cases since March 11 now stands at 131,970, with 3,519 deaths. 

Currently there are 671Mississippians hospitalized with confirmed COVID-19 infection. There are currently 189 people hospitalized in intensive care for confirmed COVID-19.

There are 140 active outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities (where an outbreak is one or more cases among residents or staff). There are 23 new long-term care cases and five new long-term care deaths.
