Mississippi COVID-19 Cases Rise to 8,686 and 396 Deaths

Today Mississippi State Department of Health is reporting 262 new cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 22 new deaths (including 9 from prior weeks identified through death certificate investigation).

Mississippi’s total of COVID-19 cases since March 11 now stands at 8,686, with 396 deaths.

29 of the new cases reported today were among residents in long-term care facilities, and there are now 114 active outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities (where an outbreak is one or more cases among residents or staff).
