Linebacker on the Ole Miss Rebels Football Team Arrested for “Sexual Battery” by Oxford, Mississippi Police

On Friday, July 24, 2020, Samuel Williams (21 of Montgomery, Alabama) was arrested on a warrant for sexual battery by the Oxford Police Department.

Williams is a Junior Linebacker for the Ole Miss Rebels Football Team at the University of Mississippi. Due to the nature of the case, Oxford Police are “not releasing any further information”.

Williams received a $25,000 bond from a Lafayette County Justice Court judge.

Ole Miss Football released the following statement:

“We have suspended Sam Williams indefinitely from all team activities. We take these charges very seriously and will allow the legal system to run its course before making further determinations on his status in our program.”
