Jimmy Reidy Benefit Concert 4/12 at Ajax (read on!)
Jimmy Reidy is from Oxford, and his Dad has been a teacher at OHS for 20 years. Jimmy has worked at Volta Taverna for about a year, where he is considered part of their family. He is always polite, positive, and happy go lucky. The Saturday morning before spring break, he was play wrestling with his friend and landed wrong. He broke his neck in two spots, and three of his vertebra got knocked out of alignment. After being picked up by the ambulance, he was airlifted to the Medical Regional Hospital in Memphis where he remained in ICU for seven days. He can only move his left leg, and recently has obtained minimal movement in his left arm. He does not have any motion in the rest of his body. He had surgery on Monday, May 19, and his family said he is in a lot of pain right now. Once he is released from the hospital, he’ll be going into a rehab program to try and regain movement in the rest of his body. We are trying to raise as much money as we can to help him pay for his hospital bills and for his rehab program. It is going to be a long recovery for Jimmy, but we are confident that he will get through this.

Volta Taverna will be holding a benefit concert for Jimmy on Thursday, April 12th at Ajax Diner starting at 10 pm. There will also be a raffle with prizes for people to enter that night. The concert will feature: DJ Dent May, Dead Gaze, and Young Buffalo. If anyone would like to donate items to our raffle prizes, we are happy to accept anything anyone is willing to donate.
In addition, you can find donation jars around town where people can put in their spare change. Every penny counts!
