How to be Vaccinated Against COVID-19 if You are 75 or Older, or a Healthcare Worker in Mississippi

Who Is Eligible for Vaccination

Long-term care facility residents and staff.

Any healthcare worker, paid or unpaid, in any setting where they may be exposed directly or indirectly to COVID-19 patients or COVID-19 infectious materials.

Healthcare workers include nurses, physicians, emergency medical services, technicians, pharmacists, dietary and food staff, environmental services staff and others.

Healthcare settings include acute care facilities, long-term acute care facilities, inpatient rehabilitation facilities, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, home health care, mobile clinics, outpatient facilities such as physicians’ offices and others.

Adults age 75 and older. Adults in this age group can be vaccinated at any of our drive-through locations below. See below for appointment information.

Only these groups are eligible for vaccination at this time.

Local Vaccination Providers

Many local hospitals and health clinics can now provide COVID-19 vaccinations to adults 75 years of age or older. Contact a provider directly to arrange for vaccination.

Free Drive-Through Vaccinations

An Appointment Is Required

Please schedule an appointment online through our UMMC partners. When you arrive for testing, expect vaccination and related paperwork to take about 10 minutes. We also have a 15-minute observation period after vaccination. Use the link below to schedule an appointment, or call (877) 978-6453 if scheduling online isn’t convenient.

After Vaccination

  • There is a 15-minute observation period after your vaccination.
  • After you are vaccinated, continue to follow all safety measures such as social distancing and mask wearing.

Your Second Dose

  • You will receive a card reminding you when to return for your second vaccine dose. Both doses of vaccine are necessary to be fully protected against COVID-19.
  • You should also receive a text message reminder at the appropriate time. You can also set a reminder with the v-safe app for your smartphone.
  • If you receive the Pfizer vaccine, you should return in 21 days or later for your second dose. If you receive the Moderna vaccine, you should return in 28 days or later for your second dose.
  • You can schedule your second vaccination online. Please bring the reminder card you were given with you.
  • Schedule your second vaccination at the same location you received your first dose, whether it is through one of our drive-through locations or through another provider.
  • After you are vaccinated, continue to follow all safety measures such as social distancing and mask wearing.
