Football and Murder Are Themes for Local Author Michael Henry’s New Novel “5 Star”

Book signing and reading event is at Off Square Books Thursday, May 9 at 5:30 pm

El Ray, a 5-star Ole Miss quarterback recruit, is murdered on an unauthorized weekend visit, triggering a vindictive NCAA investigation eager to pin the blame on the university, and sending former D.A. Willie Mitchell Banks into a deadly drugs-for-sex underworld in rural Mississippi where Willie Mitchell avenges the brutal murder of his wife Susan while finding the high school quarterback’s killer.

Natchitoches, Louisiana-native Michael Henry graduated from Tulane University and University of Virginia Law School. He practiced civil and criminal law, including sixteen years as a prosecutor, twelve of those as an elected District Attorney. Henry currently resides and writes in Oxford, Mississippi.
