Farewell Local Color: Photographs of the Last Days of Oxford’s Original Head Shop
On Tuesday, November 16, 2021, the building that housed Oxford‘s original head shop, Local Color, was demolished. The house was recently sold after owner William “Willie” Wallace suffered a stroke earlier this year. Willie now resides in an assisted living home in Oxford.
These photographs were shot by Newt Rayburn and Bill Beckwith.
