City of Oxford, Mississippi Board of Aldermen Meeting Agenda – Tuesday, July 21, 2020

Meeting is at 5:00 pm in the City Hall Courtroom.

Notice that certain commission members will be included in the meeting via teleconference, subject to City of Oxford Code of Ordinances Section 2-82.

  2. Adopt the agenda for the meeting.
  3. Mayor’s Report
  4. Authorize the approval of the minutes of the Special Meeting on June 29, 2020, the Recess Meeting on June 30, 2020, the Recess Meeting on July 1, 2020, the Recess Meeting on July 6, 2020, and the Regular Meeting on July 7, 2020. (Ashley Atkinson)
  5. Authorize the approval of accounts for all city departments. (Ashley Atkinson)
  6. Consider the consent agenda:
    1. Request approval of water and/or sewer adjustments in accordance with the Oxford Utilities Leak Adjustment Policy. (Rob Neely)
    2. Request permission to hire/reactivate 4 seasonal employees in the Environmental Services Department. (Braxton Tullos)
    3. Request permission to accept the resignation of 2 employees in the Oxford Police Department. (Braxton Tullos)
    4. Request permission to advertise for part-time Facility Workers at the Oxford Conference Center. (Braxton Tullos)
    5. Request permission to advertise for an IT Specialist in the General Government Department. (Braxton Tullos)
    6. Request approval of a step raise for one employee in the Buildings and Grounds Department due to the completion of the probationary period. (Braxton Tullos)
    7. Request permission to promote one Officer to Sergeant in the Oxford Police Department. (Braxton Tullos)
    8. Request permission to promote one Investigator to Commander in the Metro Narcotics Division of the Oxford Police Department. (Braxton Tullos)
  7. Consider a request for an extension of the temporary certificate of occupancy for the LaQuinta Inn on Frontage Road. (Joey Moore)
  8. Consider Change Order #1 for the Soccer Field #1 Project at mTrade Park. (Brad Freeman)
  9. Consider a request from ICM for a waiver of the fee for a 30-day temporary Certificate of Occupancy for the new Lafayette Elementary School. (Chris Carter)
  10. Consider a request from ICM for a waiver of the fee for a 30-day temporary Certificate of Occupancy for the new Central Elementary School. (Chris Carter)
  11. Consider Change Order #1 for the AMI Water Meter Project. (Rob Neely)
  12. First reading of a proposed ordinance amending Chapter 2-Administration, Article VIII, Section 2- 236, Composition and Terms, of the City of Oxford Code of Ordinances regarding the Historic Properties Commission. (Kate Kenwright)
  13. Request permission to accept a MS Dept. of Archives and History CLG Grant for the re-survey of the historic districts. (Kate Kenwright)
  14. Consider a request from Mac Monteith, for Case #2640, to modify The Lamar TND Regulating Plan for Phase 2 to change the multi-family mansion flats into single-family homes, for property located North of Cincinnatus Boulevard and East of Jennie Avenue, being further identified as PPIN 39051. (Ben Requet)
  15. First reading of a proposed Ordinance for Case #2642, to amend the City of Oxford Land Development Code. (Ben Requet)
  16. Discuss recommendation from the Downtown Parking Advisory Commission to resume all paid, off-street parking and monthly parking permits effective Monday, August 3, 2020. (Matt Davis)
  17. Request permission to sign Contract Update for Passport Operating System – Open Parking Ecosystem. (Matt Davis)
  18. Second reading and public hearing of revised Ordinance for Parades, Public Assemblies, and Special Events (Section 102- 650 and 651). (Jeff McCutchen)
  19. Consider Change Order #2 for Legacy Construction Services for Oxford Fire Department Station #2. (Mark Levy)
  20. Consider an executive session.
