Batesville, Mississippi Man Arrested for Knife Fight on the Oxford Square

On Sunday, October 6, 2019, at approximately 1:25 am, officers with the Oxford Police Department responded to a fight between a group of males on North Lamar Boulevard in front of Pita Pit.

Officers found a male with multiple non-life threatening stab wounds to the leg and chest. The suspect ran off but was found shortly afterwards.

Johnny James (24 of Batesville, Mississippi) was arrested and transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center where he was charged with aggravated assault.

He was given a bond of $25,000 by a Justice Court Judge.
