Arrest Made in Lorenzen Wright Murder Case

A gun was retrieved roughly a month ago from a lake in Walnut, Mississippi, that was related to the cold murder case of Oxford native and former Memphis Grizzlies player Lorenzen Wright in 2010. Authorities then made the public aware of a reward for information that would lead them to an arrest. Despite going seven years without an substantial leads or evidence, an arrest was finally made.

Billy Turner was arrested at Express Mart in Collierville, Tennessee. Video footage was released of the arrest showing Turner checking out at the counter when authorities placed him in handcuffs. There was no struggle or attempt to resist. Turner actually stepped to the side when approached by police, completely unaware they had followed him from his home to make the arrest.

A store associate, Aimen Alaina, stated that Turner owned a landscaping business and was a regular, often hanging around to chat with the employees. He was shocked to learn what Turner was being arrested for.

Turner has been charged with first-degree murder and is being held on a $1 million bond. The Local Voice Ligature
